 Eurosteam iron

Wanting feedback from anyone who knows the Eurosteam iron. This is not Euro Pro product. This has steam generator within the iron, yet is still very light weight. Been in Europe 9 years and 3 yers in Canada, new to US market. Thanks

I am looking for it too. I saw it demonstrated in a home show in Kansas City. It sold for $200.00 last year. I'm sorry I didn't buy it then.

So, has anyone purchased one yet??

I can't understand how you can put it on top of a balloon w/o the balloon bursting, then at the same teperature iron through the front and back of your denim jeans. It was demo'd at one of our home shows last week and will be at another county near me next week. Plus, it ironed on silk w/o burning it.

My wife and I bought a Eurosteam Iron last year at a home show. We saw it early on during the day and as we were leaving we took a second look. I had just bought a new Black and Decker Iron - rated a best buy by Consumer Reports. It was still in the box when we brought the Eurosteam home. While it cost much much more than the B & D, the Eurosteam is the most remarkable iron we have ever used. We have dreaded ironing to the point that clothes would sit in the "Ironing Basket" for months. Not any more. The Eurosteam is fast, easy and performs as advertised. Again, it is pricey, but you get what you pay for. It is the last iron we will ever buy.

I bought a Eurosteam iron at a show in April in Massachusetts. I like the way it gets nice and hot and steamy, but it bothers me that you can't tell how much water is in the iron at any point. There is no window. So you can wait till you run out of steam (annoying) or put water in when you think you're getting low (but you may put in too much). For this reason, I'm thinking of trying to sell mine.

So, if you can touch the soleplate to a balloon, the soleplate must not heat. What you have is a steamer in the shape of an iron.

I have a Rowenta steam generator and find that the soleplate does not get hot ENOUGH. The iron functions like a traditional iron w/temp control, etc., and you NEED heat there, too, if you want to iron. Steam isn't all there is to sewing, pressing or ironing.

That steam generator is wonderful and much, much better (and much less work) than a traditional iron, but take away the heat in the soleplate and there's no way that those altar linens would be crisp and perfect and there's no way that 100% cotton muslin dust ruffle would be wrinkle-free and there's no way those 100% cotton batiste christening gowns would be perfect.

Finally, there's no way you could work w/starch w/o heat in the soleplate.

I can't see paying $200 bucks for a steamer. Y'all enlighten me, here.

Regards,
The Fairy Godmother

Hi,
Just saw this demonstrated today. The soleplate does get hot. They sprayed water on it and it sizzled and jumped. They said that it will burn living things but not non-living things. I want one very badly and might could do 150 but not 200. That put it out of my range. They people that have replied and said they sell them might could explain how it doesn't burn the fabric, but does people.

Dear Fairy Godmother,

I just purchased the Iron, and I can tell you that the soleplate gets very hot. It is still in the box waiting to iron all my very large tablecloths.
At the demonstration, water was sprayed on the plate and it bubbled and hissed like any iron would. I also tried it out through 4 layers of denim with one pass and every layer was wrinkle free.
It is pricey, but if it cuts the time I have to stand at an ironing board I'll have more time for other enjoyable tasks.

I just bought this on Saturday - I already had a EuroPro Steam Generator - some lies that they spout at the demo - one fill will last 2 hours - ironed 3 shirts and had to fill the iron 3 times also ironed 3 hankies and a tshirt. For sure it didnt last 2 hours not even one hour.
Another thing - if you do heirloom sewing and machine embroidery you need to starch the fabric before you begin - this iron did not dry the shirt I used spray starch on it had damp spots.
Compared to my Euro Pro steam generator iron which is 1700 watts this one is 800 watts and produces no where near the steam that EuroPro does. Those shirts they use in the demo have been ironed hundreds of times in a day so never mind they tie them and make wrinkles - those wrinkles will release very quickly - try your old iron at home - tie up an ironed shirt then leave it a few minutes and untie and iron - no problem right?? Demo girl was using tap water but advised to use bottled water or distilled water.
Cost was $200 Canadian and she claimed that it would be $350 during Calgary Stampede in July $200 Canadian is $169 U.S.

I have had my Eurosteam iron for about 1 1/2 years. It is now spitting water as I iron, shooting big sprays of water when it is held vertically, and it won't give me the burst of steam when I push the button any more. What is the problem? I have always used distilled water in it.
