Stitchinfairy or Anyone Else Who Took the Class:

I can't find my book! I know how to make the flower petals on the flowers for this dress, but how does one make the centers: Is it over 4 threads and then over 5 or 5 then 4 or what What about the leaves? Long and short stitches, or what? Please help! This UFO has sat around long enough! TIA!

Kathleen,

Catch up Girl!!! I am done with mine and my daughter wore it for Easter. Anyway in answer to your question it is four then five. The four go side to side and the five go up an down. Make sense? Sorry I didn't answer sooner but I had to finish a cross stitch piece for nationals.

Stitchinfairy-who is VERY happy to have the Mirabilia "Baby Boat" done!

Thanks so much!! Of course you never sleep, that's why you get all of these beautiful things done so quickly, right?? I'll bet your daughter was just darling for Easter! Did you finish the second dress? (Yes, of course, she says! (Why do you think I'm working on a size 4 for an 18-month old child???) Thanks again!
What's this about a cross stitch piece for the nationals? Tell more, tell more!!!

It is a Miraibilia piece called "The Baby Boat" that is pretty big with a lot of sparklies. I did it on a hand dyed piece of fabric. I hope to get it in my webshots album sometime tonight.

Thank you!!! I got the pattern from my local needle shop but the Froggy Stitcher has it here is the link: http://froggystitcher.com/category_120/Mirabilia.htm . Karen has it for $10. My local shop might still have one and they ship anywhere. Their email is stitchex@consolidated.net

Nationals is a counted cross stitch show open to any one in the states. It is held once a year in Arcola, IL. You can find more info about it here http://www.stitch.rockome.com/

not super far. It takes me about 30 minutes to get there. I highly dobut I will win best of show(that is the $500 prize). There is very, very stiff competition at the show.

I am not holding my breath on winning. The competition is very, very stiff. The show starts on Friday for the public and the judges are judging this week. I will let you all know where I placed.

WOW! I never fail to learn something here!! Thanks Beth - I just sent your links to my Oldest Daughter who does cross-stitch non-stop. It's the only thing she likes to do, well, any kind of counted work, and she does it beautifully! I know she'll find this very interesting!

O, and don't feel bad Kathleen - I have Avonlea in my UFO pile from last summer! I did finish the handwork on Rosy Posy but it is not yet constructed and I'm maybe halfway done with the handwork on the christening gown from last summer. HA!

Stitchinfairy,

I thought of you yesterday. I drove by Arcola (where you will be winning your $500 prize next week!!!) to Mattoon to pick up a farm kitchen sink that I bought on eBay for my new house. Drove 5 hours. -1 way- What a nut, huh? -And to think I get to drive it again when I go to Huntsville AND
back again!

Keep us informed of the show results!!

Has anybody completed Rosy Posey? I was a little confused about the directions - refers to the organdy (organza?) both as the lining and the underlining. I can see using it as an underlining but not as the lining but there is not enough fabric for a real lining. I cut it all out and then cut a paler pink lining out of some lawn I had. I plan to construct it like that unless somebody has a better idea???
