 Silk Dupioni - Right Side?
Author: JulieBee

I've never worked with silk dupioni before, so I hope this isn't a silly question. Which is the right side? The shiny side or the duller side? I'm thinking it's the duller side, but want to be sure before I begin.

Thanks!

Julie

I find it hard to distinguish the right side from the wrons side in most cases, and never noticed one side being shinier than the other. Use thes side that you like the look of best.

The selvedges are a clue - fabric is placed on a sort of form that has like little nails the nails go from back side to front side so the front of the selvedge should have little nail bumps like if you put a nail through cardboard. But you can sew any fabric that has no obvious right or wrong side with whatever side you like best mark the selvedge of the side you are using at right side.
