Greg has had a very good day and has not needed any oxygen since 7:40 this morning and is still breathing on his own. Temp. is normal, and my husband tells me the progress over the last 3 days has been remarkable. Physical therapists visit several times a day, and Greg has been able to sit up for variable periods of time. Two or three nurses were in to check on him and were so pleased and amazed that he is doing so much better. Thank you all for all the kindness and prayers you have shown toward me and my family. You are a very special group of ladies!!!!

Greg's progress is continuing and we are so grateful for your prayers. They have been able to put a cap on his tracheotomy tube so that he is able to talk, and the length of time he is able to tolerate the cap and breathe on his own is getting longer day by day. He has been able to stand for short periods with the aid of a walker next to his bed, and managed to use a commode chair for the first time today. He is fully alert and my husband feels his spirits are good. Greg has asked to use my kindle (that my husband remembered to bring over there with him) and think he will be tapping out messages in a day or two. Physical therapists and speech therapists visit a couple of times each per day, and they are keeping him busy. Hospitals are not known as places to get a lot of rest. Getting well is their purpose and he is certainly making headway.

Greg's progress seems remarkable. He has been moved to an LTAC unit which stand for Long Term Acute Care unit yesterday. That means he is out of the ICU at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center where he has been since Oct. 3rd. Greg's older brother is there , cheering him on, working from Greg's condo, and generally doing whatever needs doing around there. Carl said the trach tube had to be capped for 3 days before they would consider taking it out. Don't know if all of today was counted as day one or not. Greg managed to take a walk to the nurses station, but don't know how far that was. He told Carl he was quite tired when he got back.- don't know how far that was. Hope he is not going to jeopardize anything. Please keep the prayers coming. I know how much a difference they have made. You are such a special group of sewing ladies. Thank you so so very much.

Linda, it is our privileged to pray for one another. It's like that wheel that just keeps going around. Sometimes you are praying for us; sometimes we are praying for you. But the prayers just keep going up to God.
