Hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day.
Just a little smile from my ds...a special needs young man who doesn't always hear or repeat everything just right...
He came home yesterday and wished us "Happy Vitamins Day!"

I spent Valentine's Day in the surgery center having my eye repaired. I face-planted on a table after missing the last step of the stairs (no, there were no drugs or alcohol involved, just clumsiness, I guess). I was lucky that the best doctor for this kind of surgery had a cancellation that day. He repaired a lacerated tear duct and tendon and the lower lid was lacerated to the bone. Plus, I have some nice Frankenstein stitches on the bridge of my nose from where the bridge of my glasses lacerated the bridge of my nose. I'm told the glasses probably saved me from losing an eye. My left eye is still swollen shut and I resemble those pictures of poor women who have suffered a severe facial beating (which I guess I did, just not by a fist), but I'm on the mend.

What a terrible accident, you must have been frantic when you realized it was your eye which was injured. So glad you got a good doctor to fix you up, facial surgery is tricky at best. Hope you get well soon.

I slipped on a stair at my son's house one year while carrying a suitcase and ended up on my back against the wall at the end of the staircase. My 3 yo dgd witnessed the whole thing and dramatically reenacted it for years afterward. If I could have thrown my legs up that high it would have been a miracle. I still laugh when I think about her doing that.

Thanks, I'm taking it easy and the eye is still swollen shut but budging a little bit. Carol, I'm glad that you were not so injured that you couldn't laugh about it!!
