This is my practice piece with the scraps from the Whale of a Tale quilt I am making for Sarah. It is only pieced, not yet quilted. I was going to just do some practice with the scraps then decided, why not actually make a dog quilt. But then it didn't look big enough, and so I decided to make it bigger halfway though, but then I was running out of fabric... so instead of a cute little dog quilt we gave this off balanced funny looking dog's breakfast quilt! And since I have a super chomper giant "puppy" at this point in time, I've no idea what I will do with it. I'm sure he would chomp it to pieces! Definitely a for better or worse sort of thing. Even kept changing my mind about which was front and which back!

That is funny, but also so sweet! I'm sure your puppy will love it even if it's a bit small for him .

So delightful, you made good use of your scraps. I've seen lots of contemporary quilt patterns with blocks we would consider to be off kilter so your work fits right into that genre. The sky is the limit in quilting these days, the old rules don't apply anymore. Love your label too, my son and his family just lost their yorkie a couple of days ago so your tribute to Wills brings your loss and the loss of Tucker to mind with all the sadness that surrounds their passing.

Lots of work in that piece...I am in awe of people who can quilt! My mind just doesn't work in a way to allow me to do it...sigh.

Very sweet Mizzlilly, you are well on your way to quilter, even if you don't think so! I love your creative front and back, but especially the label.
