This is one of the designs from San Francisco Stitch Company. I made it for my former mother-in-law's 100th birthday. I will also give her a pansy-patterned mug.

I like this so much - you did such a nice job. I have been working on mug mats today, too, but mine are not nearly as pretty. Thanks for sharing.

This is beautiful, Grammie! Bet this lady will love her gift. The www.SanFranciscoStitchCo.com designs are very well done. She includes complete directions for making the projects which is an added bonus..

What a fabulous project! I too like how the back finished. Very useful either way. What did you use for stabilizer? Looks like you put some batting in there too!

Lovely, lovely, lovely! I've bought so many of these from SFSC but haven't stitch a one yet. Your project shows me they look even better than the pics on their site.

I WOULD HAVE A GARDEN full of pansies the ones we call Johnny jump ups - sometimes I find them here and there not sure how they came to grow where they landed..... I love love love pansies and would like to see picture of your mug/cup as well
another thing I love are scattered shamrocks not 4 leaf clover but shamrocks - would love a tea set with shamrocks I am sure your MIL will love her birthday gifts

Thank you, everyone for your kind comments. I have been away for a few days so am just now catching up.

Yes, there is a thin batting and a cut-away stabilizer in my mug rug.

Here is the link to this design:

http://sanfranciscostitchco.com/MayMugRug.html

I will post a photo of the mug in a few minutes.
