I made two angels for our DS and DDIL for Christmas!! The design is from OESD and I bought the super bright tea light candles from Quick Candles. I also orders an acrylic display box for them so they will be "cat proof"!!

Wow Karen, these are gorgeous! And I'm sure your son and daughter-in-law will
enjoy them very much...what a beautiful Christmas decoration that will last for
years to come.

OH MY I first thought for sure that you were dabbling in leaded glass they look like it. I must go check those out and see if I have what supplies are needed.

They are beautiful, looks like they could even be used as tree toppers. Certain to be something carefully stored away to be used again each year.

So elegant and the idea of putting them over the tea lights is genius. Love the label too. Are these FS Lace or do they have a fabric base? If fabric, what did you use?

Thank you, Ladies!!

Some of the design is stitched over fabric (Free Standing Applique) and some is free standing lace. I used quilting cotton backed with OESD Stabilstick for the applique areas. I hooped two layers of wss and then just followed the stitch out directions. And, alligator clamps are a MUST for getting those tiny "buttons" through the loops!!

What an amazing project! I too thought that they were glass because of the tranlucent nature of it. Love it!

Wow! Nice colors. I also use flameless tea lights in mine.

OESD has some lovely FSL designs and these are no exception! I just saw the cute Tee Shirt you embroidered for your grandson, so you are ahead of the curve on your holiday embroidery! The Angels are exquisite.

These are beautiful Karen. Curious a bout your tealight - such a different look from what we have in the midwest. Not that it really matters, Yours look shorter and I like that fact.

Bobette--I had a hard time finding battery operated tea light candles that were bright enough for my FSL embroideries (especially the Gingerbread house I made last year). Then I found the perfect ones at Quick Candles--they are super bright AND you can even put them in water!!

Sorry, just went back to the "clickables" and you already told us about the tea light. I think the LED ones would show more or brighter light.

Thanks, Everyone!!

nlsummerlin--I used my Hallmark Card program for address labels and just changed the wording. Then I printed it on printable ink jet printer fabric and used my rotary cutter to cut them out.
