I have a little baby gown I'm finishing up, and as an after thought I'd like to
add some trim to the bottom. The trim is an embroidered swiss insertion about
1 3/4 inches wide....and of course, the trim has straight edges.
If I've done this before, I can't remember, but it seems like I might run into
trouble getting the straight insertion to attach without some puckers on this
curved hem. The gown is very small, making the curve more prominent.
Any thoughts on this, about how to attach? I thought of using fagoting to
attach it, but didn't really want to go to the trouble if I don't have to. My
thought is that the slight difference (between the straight edge and the
curve) would be evened out by the fagoting.
Am I over-thinking or just worrying about nothing? Thanks so much for your
I should add the fabric for the gown is cotton sateen, and the hem is unfinished.
The insertion would go above the curved line for the hem edge.
