I made this apron at my first ever quilt retreat last weekend, after doing just a bit of real quilting on the backing for Sarah's quilt. I wanted to make a different apron for my friend Heather using some cute old fashioned milk bottle fabric with red mini cow print bias, but I couldn't find the pattern in my taken apart sewing room mess. So I went with this pattern and these fabrics...similar pattern to the one I wanted to use. Both patterns are by Cindy Taylor Oates. She has wonderful attention to detail and very clever construction methods...even though we are "only" talking about an apron. I also posted a picture of my little mini-disaster shirt for Teddy...embroidery only. It's in my Smugmug album.

What a cute pattern and fabrics. I'll have to check out CTO's patterns, I didn't know she had any for aprons. I'll bet that Quilting Retreat was fun, what a great way to spend a weekend.

I can really feel for you with your sewing room turned upside down! We had "wood" put in my sewing room and it is still messed up. Part of supplies in dining room, part in utility room. When I try sewing ANYTHING, I run around the house searching for the simpliest of items!! Ya know, like scissors!!!

What an adorable apron!!! Which of the Cindy Taylor Oates patterns did you use?

Love Teddy's shirt too! My grandson's favorite thing to do at grandma's is to find images online, use the Wizard in my Premier software to digitize them, pick out the thread colors and a shirt to embroider on. He's 9.

It's hard to find this type of apron. Yours is fabulous! I especially liked the pockets!

Thanks Lynn...yes, the kids sure do love doing embroidery! Tricia, I can usually find things in my usual mess, but now, 😱, yikes. Countdown is on...one month and three days until we start building. Yippeeeeeeee!

Adorable apron!! I'm sure your friend it going to love it!!
Love Teddy's shirt. I'm sure he is very proud of it!!
Lillian, I can't find a thing in my house. Machines in several rooms, fabric in the basement, thread in another room and stabilizers in another room. Wish I did have a
place for everything!!
Glad to see you posting again!!

Thanks Pat and JR. I sure hope I can get organized once I have my new space! I just bought a new laptop and now can’t find my Monogram Wizard Plus CD. And seems my grandboys lost one of my TV clickers and a flashlight! Lost things are so frustrating! A week tomorrow the building finally begins. Yippeee!
