Please remember my SIL Henry. They had to remove his foot and part way up his leg, today. He had a wound for over a year that did not heal and the infection was spreading. He went to the emergency room last night. Today they did an MRI and within a hour, took him in to surgery and removed the foot. He is only 48, 2 in college and one just turned 16. He didn't know he was diabetic although we now know it runs in the family. He was laid off after having to take time for the treatment over a year ago. Thanks,

What a shock to him and the family, I'm so sorry they had to amputate. I'm praying for all of you as you adjust to this difficult situation.

My goodness Gillie, I'm so sorry! I'll be praying he heals quickly and is able to adjust. This must
be a terrible blow.

Henry had surgery yesterday to enclose the wound. They had been draining it but felt it could be closed now. They want to send him home either Friday or Saturday. Thanks for your prayers.

Continuing to support Henry in his quest for healing. Such a sad time for a young man - adjustment will be difficult but his strengths will carry him through.

Thanks for your prayers and for sure he will need much uplifting in prayer. He came home yesterday afternoon and was able to attend his youngest daughter's concert that night. He looks very drained and has lot lots of weight. He has a scooter on loan from a member of his church and he kneels on that to get around. The low sitting is a major problem and he is not one to accept help. He did most of the cooking and driving the two girls around but for now grandson is able to do most of the driving and I will help with the cooking when DD is working her 12 hour shifts, 7PM to 7 AM. With Henry not working, she takes any extra hours she can. Thanks for your prayers,

Oh dear, just read this now. I am so sorry...such an awful illness and a terrible shock! With something like this you go through many stages...shock...grief at what’s lost...I don’t know them all, but then eventually acceptance, but it will be a long, tough road for everyone in the family. Big hugs to you Gillie.

I'm so sorry Gillie, and will continue to lift up this dear young man in prayer. It must come as
a big shock to you too. May our Lord draw your family close to Himself and give strength and
comfort sufficient to get through this terrible ordeal. Big hugs.

Praying for Henry and the rest of your family. This looks like a difficult situation with the job loss and amputation. My church supports Urban Ministries; a non-profit organization that assists people in all kinds of situations. Do some research and make some phone calls for him. You might be surprised at the kind of assistance that is available.
