I STILL need to purchase some light weight thread for garment sewing, and
I know I've asked this question at least please forgive me.

When I'm working with light weight fabric, like for the blouse I'm making, I don't
want to use heavy 50 wt thread. I've been getting by using bobbin thread or
embroidery thread, but all the embroidery thread I have has a shine to it...that
I don't want.

Also, looking at the Superior threads website, I see I can choose from cotton and
poly content. Some use cotton thread, even on synthetics...but is that the good
idea? Does cotton thread hold up as well as poly?

The blouse I'm making now is a fine 100% (?) cotton voile or something similar.
And I hesitate to use fine cotton thread since it's not as strong as poly. What
would you use? Thanks so much for your input!

Found this in Sandra Betzina's Power Sewing email that I received this week:

" Don't use polyester thread when sewing lightweight silk or cottons. Puckers in the sewn seam can be pressed out, but will return because the polyester thread has memory. Silk or 100% cotton thread gives the most desirable results."
