I spent a LOOONG time last night, and several hours this morning looking at photos of French laces. This is hard! Now I remember why I never tried doing this before! I have used these techniques making clothes for porcelain dolls, but only with fabric and lace from Joanns stores.

I got an email notification yesterday from Classic Sewing saying that Lesson 2 is available and also saw a link on Facebook. I'm not a subscriber but was able to copy and paste the lesson with no trouble.

Janice said you need not be a subscriber to the magazine. Have to admit - free is good! I have been telling the ladies in Embroider club about it.

Neva, Have you been to Luc the Laceman's website? He has some gorgeous laces at great
prices. His website is cottonlace.com

Linda, THANK YOU! I went to the Luc the Laceman's site after you told about it before. But had already ordered my project supplies at that time. Sadly, I am still waiting for my order which included fabric and lace. Notified me they had to backorder the lace I chose and are holding the entire order. (Insert cuss words here as you choose.) Won't mention business name, but am very disappointed. I will visit the Laceman now to check out his sale.

Brother has now posted this information on their blog. Go check it out: blog.brothersews.com. Choose the pink heirloom baby dress to see it, and you can download it. What a fabulous dress this is! I appreciate how much work it was to create these lessons. Thank you again, Janice....

The Sew-along Heirloom Dress project is now complete. Janice did a superb job of writing up and illustrating it. Both Classic Sewing Magazine and Brother have it on their sites. Be sure to get it printed and saved! http://blog.brothersews.com/

Thank you All, dear sewing sisters! This was a big adventure for me and your enthusiasm and support meant a lot to me. I hope you were able to glean a few tidbits and maybe even finish the dress. I would absolutely LOVE to see any finished projects--now or later! Thanks again.
