This is the third Ode to Joy tunic/dress done in an on-line class with Maggie Bunch. Great class, great pattern and such a nice project. My granddaughter loves it. This one is made with Magical Parade border print by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller. I love every one of those prints. Just wanted to share this finished project. More photos and details are posted here

Love it! All of the fabrics in that collection are wonderful and you've made such good use of them. Enjoyed reading about your Ghana towels too. It amazes me how you always find the perfect designs for your embroidered projects.

Thank you, Ladies, for all your sweet words and encouragement. Carol, having a ridiculously huge stash makes it easy to find just the right fabric. I just wish I had thought to add a caduceus on each towel. They are going back again next year so I'll remember to do that then. You can't have too many Africa towels, right?

Well I had to look that one up, seen the symbol a million times but didn't know the name. If it's out there digitized, I'll bet anything you'll find it.

Coming in late to the party here, as usual, but I love this little dress! The print is so special
and as always so is your work, and interpretation of the design. I always get excited when I
see Janice has something to share! Always a treat for the eyes!

Carol, thanks for you kind comment. The annoying thing about the cadudeus is that I have that design! I used it for a friend who is a dr. but that was years ago and I forgot all about it I was just thinking Africa for these towels. Hindsight can be a bothersome thing!

Love that tiny check hem band, it really sets off the border fabric and smocking.

Linda S, you are too kind. With Maggie Bunch's adorable pattern and the delightful Michael Miller/Sarah Jane border prints every project is adorable. The credit goes to the pattern and the fabric. But thanks so much for the sweet words.

SewLynn, don't you just love gingham? I use yards and yards of it, from body garments to the trims. With all the sizes and colors you can always find just what is needed. Thanks for your comment.

Lynn, I love the blue checked border too and I think the fabric is one Farmhouse
Fabrics carries....or that's where I got mine. I love that fabric, for the pretty print
and also the hand of the fabric. It drapes nicely and is very soft...perfect for baby
clothes or even a comfortable summer blouse.

I don't know what the fabric is called exactly...if it is considered a lawn, or what.
And this reminds me I need to order more and hope they still carry it. I've used
it so many times, for so many things...loving the way it feels as much as anything.

Linda S. I use that gingham all the time and love it, just like you do. It has a very luxurious feel for such an every day fabric. It does feel like a lawn, though. I do hope you can get more at Farmhouse.
