I bought some beautiful Rose Gold metallic thread from Superior Threads and wanted to try it out. So, I picked a bookmarker design from OESD. I have to say that I am totally impressed with the quality of this thread!!! It embroidered perfectly and smoothly (#90 Top Stitch needle)--no thread breaking or looping at all. And, the final result is soft and smooth--not hard and scratchy like some metallic threads!!

That turned out great! Rose gold is so popular right now; I have always loved it.

Thanks for the recommendation, glad to see there's a metallic that doesn't give the stitcher fits. Interesting that you had success with a topstitch needle instead of a metallic needle. Your bookmark is lovely.

Did you use the rose thread in the bobbin too?

Thanks!!

Superior Threads recommends using #14/90 Top Stitch needles with this thread--and it worked perfectly.

Penny--I used white bobbin thread until I did the final satin stitching around the design (I used tack down stitches to place a plain white piece of fabric on the back of the bookmarker to hide the stitching on the backside, trimmed close to the tack down stitching)-then I used rose gold in the bobbin, too, to finish the satin stitching.

That is so pretty. I have never been disappointed with my purchases from Superior Threads. I'll have to remember the rose gold metallic for my next order. Thanks, Karen.

It's at Superior Threads. All the metallics I've used from them have stitched out perfectly.
