Just found out about this sale - if you like Kai scissors they are having a 25% off sale through Oct 10. Use the offer code "2018" to get the discount.

Thanks for the heads-up Carol. I've not tried Kai scissors but from what I've heard
they're pretty wonderful. I've lost my duckbill trimming scissors somehow or other
and sure do miss them. Not all brands off these, but I think Kai does...I'll take a look.

Linda, I bought a pair of duckbills when I saw them at Walmart of all places. They're not a brand name but very nice and sharp although they've gotten a lot of use especially with ME applique. I have some 4 or 5 inch Kai's curved bladed scissors which are wonderful for close trimming too.

I ordered a pair of Kai scissors just to try them out. That was about three years ago: now every pair of sewing scissors that I own are from Kai. They are fantastic. I even ordered their nail clippers and love them also.

Thank you, Carol. I ordered the true lefthanded sewing shears just to try the Kai scissors. They don't have a lot of true lefthanded options, however. The sale makes them less than trough Amazon, so I went for it. I ordered my duckbilled applique scissors through Havel's, since they have an assortment for lefties. Even Gingher has eliminated most of the lefthanded choices they used to have. Thankfully, I ordered them while they offered them (I even have a pair of Gingher lefthanded pinking shears)!!
