I’ve been absent for a number of years due to family issues, but I’m wanting to get back to my machine embroidery. However, I find that things have changed a lot, starting with my computer! So I have two questions:
1) is there a way to get the designs off my Bernina Artista cards and into my computer or onto a flash drive?
2) what software would you recommend so I can “see”/preview the designs I already have on my computer?
Thanks for your help?

I think Floriani has a software that is pretty cheap that lets you preview any designs.
Hope that helps.

Happy embroidery!

Wilcom TrueSizer is still Free to get you started sorting your designs but it won't help with the Artista Cards I'm afraid. https://www.wilcom.com/en-us/products/truesizerproducts.aspx

If you have a newer machine that has a USB port, you could load the card into the machine and then save to the USB drive. Otherwise, I have no idea! Maybe you can call and ask your Bernina dealer what to do.

Embird Basic with the Iconizer add-on also lets you see your designs as well as make edits to an existing design. Have fun getting back into this rewarding adventure!

I think you can buy a Vikant Ultimate box that will read the Bernina cards and then let you transfer them to your computer or a usb stick:

I have the Vikant box and it works...but because I use the card with my older machine I haven't tried to download from the box to my computer. You can call their support and ask them before purchasing one.

Wow! You guys are full of info and help! Thanks. I have lots to investigate now. Someone off this forum mentioned Embrillence as a possible program too. Any thought about the difference between that and Embird?

That is a good idea. I will call them about the box. I’m afraid it may not work with a Windows 10 computer, but definitely worth asking.

I use Embird too. You can download a trial version so you can see how it works. I don't know if other programs do this or not.

Gale, I had all my past designs on 3 1/2" floppy discs & lamented to my sister about retrieving them & putting them on CD & in my Embird files. She told me about a device which reads the floppy & makes it possible to put the designs on my PC. I found this on Amazon & it costs only about $20-30. I am so grateful because my "old" designs are among my favorites. . The name of the device (reader) is Rayoo, but there are others. Maybe this would work for you.
