Hi!
I recently posted a question regarding baby Bishop dress pattern. I'm now needing some input regarding whether it would be beneficial to purchase a blocking guide. I have made many smocked baby/toddler items but all were done with a smocking plate as an insert. For those that have done so, would it be recommended for the first time making a Bishop to use a blocking guide for size/shape? Any and all recommendations/suggestions/input is welcomed.I

Thanks!
Debbie Riley

I have made many, many bishops - and never used a blocking guide! Follow MaggieB's advice and just smock - the trick is the smocking plate - it must be one appropriate for a bishop so the stitches fan out - and all will be well!

Thank you so much!! 💖 The one I'm going to use is for a Bishop! I have one project to complete before I get started, but I'm anxious to get going on it!!
